Nutrition During Pregnancy, Infancy, & Early Childhood ECHO

UAA Center for Human Development Project ECHO and the State of Alaska Department of Health have partnered to deliver an ECHO series exclusively focused on nutrition during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood in Alaska.

Join us every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 6-7pm AKST as our interdisciplinary team explores critical topics related to nutrition and feeding, including human lactation and the feeding of human milk, across these key developmental stages.

Our series has been approved for the following continuing education credits: CME (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM ), Nursing (1 ANCC Contact Hour), and RD/DTR (1.0 CPEUs)

2.08.23 Setting the Stage: Overview of unique nutritional needs during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood, including during human lactation
2.22.23 Feeding During the 1st 1000 Days: Needs, considerations, and opportunities, including during human lactation
3.08.23 Identifying developmental issues: How they can impact behaviors related to nutrition, and the feeding of human milk.
3.22.23 Substance Misuse: How it impacts nutrition and development, including human lactation
4.12.23 Combating misinformation and effectively talking to families about nutrition, including human lactation
4.26.23 Common postpartum health issues that can impact feeding of human milk and nutrition
5.10.23 Healthy prenatal nutrition for Alaskans from varying cultural backgrounds including prenatal nutrition needs for future human milk following birth
5.24.23 Barriers to accessing healthy nutrition during pregnancy, after birth, and during human lactation: Food insecurity, incarceration, during disasters, and other factors to consider
5.31.23 Chronic conditions and their impact on human lactation, prenatal nutrition needs, and young children: Gestational and type 2 diabetes, HIV, and more
